The Standard
Not everything deserves the mark.
The crest is not a label applied at the end of production. It is a verdict passed at the end of judgement.
A piece that meets the commercial requirement but fails this standard does not ship. It is corrected, or it is abandoned. That decision costs money every single time it is made, which is exactly why it is worth making.
The mark is withheld far more often than it is given.
Nine Tests Before the Mark
Fabric
Chosen for hand, weight and how it behaves after a year — never for cost alone. A fabric that photographs well and wears badly has failed the only test that matters.
Fit
One coherent size system across the range. Consistency is the promise: a size that fits in one piece should fit in the next. This is the single most common failure in Indian fashion, and the easiest to avoid by refusing to change suppliers casually.
Construction
Seams, linings and reinforcement judged where they will never be seen. A garment reveals its construction in the sixth month, not the first week.
Finishing
Edges, hems, hardware, pressing. The last five percent is where the difference actually lives, and it is the first thing cut when a business is in a hurry.
Comfort
A piece that is admired but not worn has failed its only purpose. If it is not reached for, it does not matter how well it was made.
Packaging
The first physical contact between the house and the person. Considered, tactile, and never disposable in feel.
Photography
One light, one language, across everything. The product must be legible before it is beautiful — a customer should know what they are buying, not merely be impressed by it.
Storytelling
Specification before adjective. We state the fabric, the weight and the construction, and let a person decide for themselves. A garment that needs adjectives has already lost the argument.
Customer Experience
Reachable, unhurried, resolved. Service is not what happens after the product — it is part of the product.
One Verdict
Nine tests. No exceptions for speed, for season, or for the fact that something is nearly ready.
The standard exists precisely because there will be days when meeting it is inconvenient. On those days it is worth more, not less.
Nothing carries the mark by accident.
