A garment is not one decision. It is thousands.

Each of those is a decision someone made, or a decision someone avoided. Every choice shapes the product. Every product shapes the house. And a house is eventually judged by the sum of the decisions it took when nobody was checking.

That is the only honest measure of a garment. Not how it photographs on the first day, but whether it is still being chosen on the four hundredth.

Thread is the smallest thing we work with. Everything larger is an accumulation of it — a seam, a garment, a collection, a reputation.
Which is why the phrase is not decoration. It is a standard written in three words, and the house has to answer to it every time a decision could be made more cheaply.
